NCV barn: 24-09-2019

UCI Road World Championships Race.
ROADS CLOSED!

This week was the week of the UCI and, with the centre for the action being Harrogate, as with the Tour de Yorkshire earlier in the summer, there was going to be disruption to traffic. BIG TIME!! As a result it was decided that, with the likelihood of turn out being low, this week's task would be kept to a morning of tidying and sorting of wood & tool maintenance at the barn - for anyone who could reach it.

In the event only 2 turned up so photo opportunities were minimal. You can see a few below. Not exciting viewing but some useful jobs were done!!

At the start of the day things looked like this.

By lunchtime there was sufficient floor space to hold a dance.
So - what was done?

Well - we dismantled a scythe,...

... gave the mattock handles a third coat of oil,....

...sorted out the safety googles, throwing away the scratched ones
and washing those you can actually see through,...

...gave the chain saw a service,

...got rid of all the out of date safety helmets
(these will be donated to nurseries for children to dress up as Bob the Builder),...

.... and loaded up the trailer with all the defunct materials.

Ros E. and Liz found time to do the local giant's laundry....

...whilst Tony did his best to re-inflate the wheelbarrow tyre with a glare.

Failing in the attempt he gave in and attached the pump.

Once the mouse-eaten hi-vis jackets were binned,
the first aid kits replenished and the floor swept it was time
for a dash out to the car, through the rain, to go home for lunch.
