Tiplady Farm: 12-12-2023

Back to Tiplady Farm!!
Yes - this week the NCVs returned to Tiplady Farm to try and get as much of that hedge laid as possible. Let's have a look to see how they got on - if you can see them at all through the fog!!

OK gang - let's get cracking and
see if we can finish the job!

And they're off!

Just hand me that axe please Dave.

Liz must be the only person in the world
that paints her nails to go chain-sawing!!

Graham was really into the spirit of laying.
Comfy down there are you?

Will looked on in abject misery as he
tried to coax the sodden brash to ignite.

Maybe the coffee time cake
menu will cheer you up?
(Thanks, once again, to Janet for these!)

Or perhaps the lunchtime mince pies?
(Thanks to Jane Spooner for those!!)

Well this lot certainly enjoyed all the goodies!

Now you all know what hedge laying looks like we'll leave them to it for a bit and take a look at just some of the interesting artefacts around the farmyard whilst we are waiting for them to finish.

Just the thing to sharpen
the axes and billhooks!

Didn't know Dr. Who was coming along!

You can be sure of Shell.

Anyone need their oil topping up?

An interesting piece of local history
from a mill that closed 6 years ago.

Ok - enough of this little interlude. Let's get back to the hedge laying and see how things are progressing....

Oh wow!! It's done.

Well - very nearly.
Just this last little section to go.
A small team after Christmas
will soon sort that!

As well as this job there was the little matter of that woodstore back at the barn that needed finishing. Shall we just check on that too?

The team needed to put roofing
felt on and clear up the mess.

Well - here's the felt.
(Unless Paul is rolling out the
grey carpet for some visiting dignitaries.)

And there's the job done.
Brilliant! Well done team woodstore.
